Depotcharge raises €2.7M and partners with BGL to expand electric truck charging infrastructure.
Munich-based Depotcharge has raised €2.7 million in a pre-seed funding round to expand its shared charging infrastructure platform for electric road freight and support its international growth. The round was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with participation from xdeck Ventures, Kopa Ventures, Prequel Ventures and business angels from the logistics, e-mobility and energy sectors.
As part of its growth plans, Depotcharge has partnered with the Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL e.V.) to launch BGL Charge, a shared charging network designed for Germany’s road freight industry.
Depotcharge is building a platform that allows logistics companies to share unused charging capacity at their depots with other fleets. As more operators install charging infrastructure for electric trucks, charging points may remain unused for parts of the day. At the same time, other truck operators may have to depend on more expensive public charging stations.
The company’s platform brings this unused depot capacity together into shared charging networks. Depot operators can set their own prices, access conditions and availability, while Depotcharge manages access control, invoicing and payment processing. The platform is hardware-independent and works across different charging systems, backend providers and vehicle manufacturers.
Through BGL Charge, logistics companies can make unused charging points available to other fleets and gain access to charging infrastructure at participating depots. The network also manages marketing, access control, invoicing and payments, while depot operators maintain control over pricing, availability and access rules.
E.L.V.I.S. AG is also supporting the initiative by bringing together demand from its partner companies and representing their interests within BGL Charge. The purchasing cooperative will connect its network of logistics businesses to the wider charging platform, giving members access to more charging locations while helping generate additional demand for their own depot infrastructure.

The new funding will support further platform development and Depotcharge’s international expansion. The company also plans to integrate charging more closely with transport dispatch operations through booking features, open interfaces and connections to existing transport management systems.
