Dutch AI-native fintech Neno raises €6.6M to expand across Europe
Amsterdam-based AI-native financial services company Neno has raised €6.6 million in seed funding to develop its technology, expand its accounting and tax services, and enter new European markets. The round was led by New York-based early-stage venture fund AlleyCorp, with participation from Motive Partners, Firstminute Capital, and angel investors including executives from Hugging Face, Mollie, Juni, Deel, Miro, Coinbase, PayPal, and Navro.
Launched in the first quarter of 2026, Neno provides AI-powered financial services for small and medium-sized businesses. Its platform combines accounting, tax, and financial administration in one place. The company has already grown to nearly 200 customers since launching.
Neno operates in a European market where more than half of the region’s 26 million SMEs outsource accounting, payroll, and tax services to professional providers. The sector is estimated to be worth around €200 billion annually.
The company says fragmented processes across banking, accounting, tax, and payroll make it difficult for businesses to access clear and connected financial information. At the same time, a shortage of accounting professionals is putting additional pressure on traditional financial service providers.
To address these challenges, Neno has developed an AI-native workspace powered by a real-time agentic general ledger (AGL). The platform brings together information from business bank accounts, corporate cards, bill payments, and receivables into a single system, giving accountants a more complete view of a company’s finances.
Neno uses this data to automate and speed up tasks such as financial reconciliation and VAT preparation. According to the company, its technology can complete these processes up to five times faster, while customers save an average of eight hours of administrative work each month and around 20% on annual accounting costs.
Instead of business owners coordinating between banks, bookkeepers, and tax advisors, we deliver a single ‘done-for-you’ state of work where reconciliation, compliance, and reporting happen automatically in the background. The business owner's only touchpoint is reviewing what's already been handled,
explained Nick Knuppe, founder and CEO of Neno
Neno is not aiming to replace accountants with AI. Instead, it uses AI to help each accountant manage more businesses efficiently. Its platform gives accountants a complete view of customer transactions while automating routine administrative tasks that would normally require manual work.
We do not replace accountants, but we expand their capacity. This enables a single Neno accountant to manage hundreds of customers instead of the traditional thirty, without compromising on advisory quality,
said Knuppe
The new funding will help Neno launch Neno Labs, a research and development unit focused on Ambient AI. The company also plans to expand its accounting, tax, and go-to-market teams while preparing to enter more European markets in 2027
