Jaipur Robotics secures €4.3M to scale AI-powered waste plant automation
Swiss industrial AI company Jaipur Robotics has raised €4.3 million in seed funding to expand its computer vision and automation technology for waste-to-energy and other industrial facilities. The round was led by EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF).
Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Manno, near Lugano, Jaipur Robotics develops AI-powered computer vision systems designed to improve the safety, efficiency and automation of industrial plants, including waste-to-energy, cement and biomass facilities.
The company is initially targeting the waste-to-energy sector, where operators handle large volumes of mixed waste while dealing with safety risks, equipment downtime and challenges related to combustion efficiency. Jaipur Robotics says many of the more than 3,100 waste-to-energy plants worldwide still depend on manual monitoring and analogue processes.
Its platform uses computer vision to monitor waste as it enters and moves through a facility. The system converts visual data into actionable insights, helping operators detect hazardous materials, improve waste mixing and support automated crane operations.
Jaipur Robotics says its technology has been trained on more than 50 million labelled images collected from European waste-to-energy facilities and currently analyses over five million tonnes of waste each year. The company reports a 99% accuracy rate in detecting hazardous materials.
The company also claims that its technology has helped individual plants reduce unplanned shutdowns by more than 80%. Its calorific-value mapping technology supports more efficient waste mixing and combustion, while predictive guidance helps optimise crane operations.
Jaipur Robotics will use the new funding to expand into additional markets and further develop its technology. The company also plans to broaden its platform's capabilities across waste-to-energy and other industrial applications.
