Belgian startup Spotable lands €4M to scale construction tech globally
Ghent-based construction tech company Spotable has raised €4 million in seed funding to further develop its platform and accelerate its growth across Europe and the United States. The round was arranged by investment broker The Harbour and backed by investors including Jonas Dhaenens of team.blue, Christophe Morbee of NewSchool.vc, and the family office of Hilde Cloostermans and Philip Corens. Arne Vandendriessche, former CEO of Signpost and newly appointed CEO of Get Driven, also participated in the round.
Founded in 2024 by Sebastien Vandendriessche (CEO), Julie Dumoulin (CRO) and Pieter-Jan Philips (CTO), Spotable initially built software to help small roofing businesses simplify building measurements and quotation processes. The founders launched the first version of the platform just three months later and started selling it commercially about a year ago.
Spotable is addressing time-consuming manual processes in construction, where roofers can spend an average of eight hours on each project measuring buildings and preparing quotes. The company says many quotations are still prepared using Excel, often requiring tradespeople to visit potential projects in person before knowing whether they will win the job.
Software for roofers wasn't exactly the obvious foundation for an international technology company eighteen months ago. That's precisely where we saw an opportunity: giving contractors technology that's fast, reliable and easy to use. No more paperwork, just real results,
said Sebastien Vandendriessche, co-founder and CEO of Spotable.
Starting with a building’s address, Spotable combines geographic data and AI to digitally measure the structure and create a 3D model. The platform can then calculate material requirements, match materials with prices, generate quotes and support the workflow through to ordering.
The company has since expanded beyond its original focus on roofing businesses, connecting contractors with distributors and building material manufacturers. Contractors can use the platform to estimate requirements and create quotes, while distributors can add their product catalogues and pricing. Manufacturers can also showcase their products directly within the decision-making process used by construction professionals.
The new funding will help Spotable continue improving its platform and speed up its international expansion. After growing across Belgium and the Netherlands, the company is now targeting larger European construction markets such as France and Germany, where it plans to bring more construction businesses onto the platform and build partnerships with distributors and manufacturers.
Spotable is also expanding into the US market. The company has already demonstrated its technology at trade fairs and established its first commercial presence in the country.
