DOD Solution raises €1.8M to scale AI autonomy for unmanned systems
Estonian-Ukrainian DefenceTech company DOD Solution has raised €1.8 million ($2.1 million) in a pre-Seed funding round to accelerate the development and expansion of its AURA AI autonomy platform for unmanned systems.
The round was backed by Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Defence Builder Fund, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures and 4C-Next Holding AG. Canadian drone technology company Draganfly also joined the round as a strategic investor.
“Autonomy needs to work across different unmanned systems and operational environments, rather than remain a capability tied to a single platform. Our focus now is to make AURA AI easier to integrate, faster to scale and capable of supporting increasingly demanding onboard applications. This round gives us the resources and the right partners to accelerate that transition,” says Roman Hapachylo, CEO of DOD Solution.
DOD Solution’s pre-Seed round comes as investment in drone autonomy and unmanned-systems technology continues to grow across Europe in 2026.
Recent funding rounds reported by EU-Startups include €1.8 million for Cambridge-based Mutable Tactics, €3 million for London-based Occam Industries, €12 million for Norway’s Six Robotics, €2 million for Lithuania’s PDKINEMATICS, and €4.4 million for Dutch drone-software company AirHub. Finland’s Kelluu also raised €15 million in a Series A round.
In Estonia, DOD Solution’s home market, Tallinn-based Frankenburg Technologies raised €30 million to expand its missile and counter-drone defence capabilities, highlighting the broader growth of the country’s DefenceTech sector.
Alongside funding rounds for WaiV Robotics and INLEAP Photonics, these selected 2026 investments total around €70 million, rising to approximately €96.4 million when DOD Solution’s latest round is included.
Founded in 2023, DOD Solution develops onboard computers and autonomy systems for unmanned platforms. The company works with unmanned-system manufacturers to integrate AI-powered autonomy into defence applications.
Its flagship product, AURA AI, combines the AURA SBC onboard computer with AURA OS, the company’s autonomy software stack. The platform supports autonomous navigation, perception, target recognition and tracking, as well as terminal guidance when GPS or communications are limited or unavailable.
AURA AI is designed to work with various UAVs, including FPV drones, interceptor drones and fixed-wing UAVs. The technology has already been used in combat in Ukraine.
DOD Solution has also established partnerships with Lantronix, Axelera AI and Defsecintel Solutions, covering areas such as onboard computing, AI acceleration and integrated counter-drone capabilities. These partnerships are aimed at expanding the use of its autonomy technology across different unmanned platforms.
The new funding will support the production of the next generation of AURA SBC, further development of AURA OS and its onboard AI capabilities, and faster integration with unmanned-platform manufacturers in Ukraine and international markets.
The next-generation AURA SBC is being developed for large-scale production, with a focus on building a reliable component supply chain and meeting NDAA compliance requirements.
These developments are expected to support DOD Solution’s expansion into European and North American markets.
