AI infrastructure company Granite has raised €4 million in funding in a round led by Bifrost Studios, with additional support from private investors. The company will use the funding to commercialise its technology and bring its software and hardware offerings together for customers.

Granite is developing what it describes as an “agentic cloud” — infrastructure built specifically to support AI agents rather than adapting traditional cloud systems for them. Its platform brings together computing, storage and networking with Granite’s own operating system and AI orchestration software.

The company delivers its infrastructure through modular datacentres made up of containerised units that house computing, storage and networking equipment. These units can be deployed in locations where power is available. Granite offers the infrastructure through cloud services as well as dedicated systems that organisations can operate and control themselves.

The platform also features a management layer for AI agents, giving them access to memory, permissions and tools. Granite says this setup is designed to give organisations more control over where their AI workloads operate and the technology supporting them.

AI is moving from answering questions to carrying out work. That changes what businesses need from the infrastructure behind it.
We are building Granite so organisations have a genuine choice about where their AI runs, who controls the underlying technology and how they develop their AI capabilities over time,

said Peter Damm, CEO of Granite.

The new funding will help Granite commercialise its technology by combining its software and hardware to deliver AI infrastructure solutions to customers.
