London-based LO:TECH, a capital markets firm developing infrastructure for 24/7 and blockchain-powered trading, has secured $12 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by MMC, with backing from existing investors Faction and 13 Books Capital, as well as Atka.

Founded by CEO Tim Meggs and CTO Marcus Horsley, LO builds trading infrastructure that enables continuous operations across multiple trading venues and asset classes. Its platform is designed to support traditional financial markets, digital assets and prediction markets.

Historically, traditional financial markets have operated within set trading hours, whereas digital asset markets remain active 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As financial services increasingly embrace blockchain technology and new digital asset classes, trading firms are looking for infrastructure that can seamlessly connect conventional financial markets with emerging digital markets.

LO is addressing this demand through liquidity and execution services that help institutional investors and trading firms carry out transactions more efficiently. Its recently launched execution services leverage the company's infrastructure to support trading across traditional finance, digital assets and prediction markets, reflecting the growing convergence of these markets.

Capital markets were built for a world that opened at 8am and closed at 4.30pm. That's not how risk is traded any more. The best trading firms in the world are technologically advanced, but they grew up on top of traditional market infrastructure. We built ours from scratch for markets that run 24/7, onchain and across every asset class,

said Tim Meggs, CEO and co-founder of LO:TECH.

The investment comes at a time when digital asset markets are undergoing significant changes, particularly as demand for tokenised traditional financial assets continues to increase. Despite a slowdown in the wider cryptocurrency market during the first half of 2026, tokenised real-world assets have maintained their growth trajectory.

With traditional financial markets and blockchain-based ecosystems becoming more closely connected, LO:TECH is positioning itself to facilitate trading across both environments. The company aims to provide the infrastructure and execution capabilities needed to support transactions involving digital assets and tokenised versions of traditional financial instruments.

Marcus Horsley, CTO and co-founder of LO:TECH, added:

Fintech and digital asset platforms are moving into territory that used to belong to Wall Street. To do that well, they need trading partners built for how these markets actually work. There is room for a capital markets firm that grew up in digital assets to compete with the largest names in traditional finance, and we think that firm can be built in London.

The newly raised funds will help LO:TECH accelerate its international expansion, particularly across the US and Asia-Pacific regions. The company plans to establish operations in key financial centres, including New York and Singapore. It also aims to broaden its execution services for institutional customers while securing the necessary regulatory approvals in new markets, including exploring potential licensing opportunities in the US.
