Rayon is a browser-based design platform built for interior designers, has secured €10 million in Series A funding to enhance its platform and grow its go-to-market operations. The round was led by Partech, with existing investors Northzone, Foundamental and Seedcamp also participating. The latest investment takes Rayon’s total funding to nearly €16 million.

Rayon focuses on interior and experiential design projects, offering an alternative to traditional drawing tools that were originally developed for architecture and engineering. Through its browser-based platform, users can import PDFs, images and DWG plans, build custom component libraries, and manage projects from the early feasibility stage through to execution.

The platform combines drawings and project information in one place, keeping plans, styling, specifications and schedules connected throughout a project. This means updates made to drawings can automatically be reflected in related specifications. Teams can also collaborate on projects in real time and share drawings through a link without needing to export files.

The most common thing we hear in a demo is surprise. People open Rayon in a browser and expect a toy web application, but they discover a performance and a feature set that are better than most legacy CAD software. Our superpower is to make professional-grade CAD software approachable,

said Bastien Dolla, co-founder and CEO of Rayon.

The company is now enhancing its platform with AI and 3D features. Its approach brings AI directly into the drawing environment, allowing generated content to remain editable and linked to the rest of the project.

Interior design needs its own approach to AI, not a borrowed one. We're building ours directly into the drawing experience, while staying connected to the AI tools designers already use,

said Stanislas Chaillou, co-founder and COO/CPO of Rayon.

Rayon already offers several AI-powered features, including a floor plan vectoriser that turns scanned or photographed plans into editable drawings with elements such as walls, openings, and zones. It also provides a tool that can create reusable blocks from photographs. In addition, the company has launched a mobile-focused app, a presentation mode that makes it easier to edit and share drawings with clients, and a larger library of templates.

With the latest funding, Rayon plans to expand into 3D, bring AI more deeply into the design process, and grow its go-to-market activities. The company’s V4 release, planned for later this year, is expected to combine a wider range of AI-powered features with new 3D capabilities.
