Spanish fintech ID Finance secures €545M in combined debt and equity financing
Spanish fintech company ID Finance has secured €545 million in combined debt and equity financing to strengthen its consumer finance app, Plazo, and position it as Spain’s leading credit platform.
Headquartered in Barcelona, ID Finance has not disclosed how the funding is divided between debt and equity. The round attracted international investors, including Spice Expeditions, WashU, Kingsway Capital and global investment firm i80 Group.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand Plazo’s product offerings. The consumer fintech app brings together payments, shopping rewards and short-term borrowing in one platform. ID Finance has also entered the buy now, pay later (BNPL) market as it seeks to establish Plazo as a go-to destination for consumer credit in Spain.
According to ID Finance, the financing represents one of the largest funding rounds secured by a Spanish fintech company in recent years.
Alexander Dunaev, co-founder of ID Finance, said: "This investment is a strong vote of confidence in Plazo and in the model we've built to modernise consumer credit in Spain. Plazo tripled its portfolio in 2025 and reached profitability, proving that responsible, AI-driven underwriting and a genuinely better product experience can scale together. "
