Roleo, a startup building a personal AI-powered career agent for technology professionals, has secured €2.9 million in funding. The round was led by Baltic venture capital firm Practica Capital, with additional investment from Nordic VC Inventure.

Roleo was founded by Janer Gorohhov, co-founder of identity verification company Veriff, and Vahur Hansen, who was part of Wise's early engineering team and previously co-founded Membo. The company wants to change how technology professionals find their next career opportunities by reducing the need to constantly browse vacancies or submit job applications.

Traditionally, professionals have had to regularly check job portals, build industry connections and maintain an active presence to attract potential employers. Roleo is taking a different approach with a free AI career agent that works continuously in the background, tracking relevant opportunities across the job market.

The platform builds an understanding of each user's professional background, career ambitions, salary requirements and workplace preferences. This includes factors such as flexibility, job responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth. Using this information, Roleo scans the European technology job market and identifies roles that closely match individual career interests.

Rather than requiring users to go through conventional application processes, Roleo can introduce suitable candidates directly to hiring managers when relevant opportunities emerge. At the same time, users remain in control of their personal data, professional visibility and decisions about which opportunities they want to explore.

Most people spend years building their careers, but only actively manage them when something goes wrong or they decide it is time for a change. Meanwhile, great opportunities come and go, often without the right people ever hearing about them. We believe everyone should have a personal active career agent that understands what they want, keeps an eye on the market, and brings relevant opportunities to them. You should be able to focus on doing great work without missing out on what could come next,

said Janer Gorohhov, co-founder and CEO of Roleo.

Since the start of 2026, Roleo's AI agent has helped users discover and explore 30,000 career opportunities. The platform assesses hundreds of thousands of potential job openings every week, narrowing them down to around three of the most relevant opportunities for each individual.

Its user base includes professionals working at major technology companies such as Google, Amazon, Stripe and Spotify. For employers, Roleo offers a way to connect with experienced and qualified candidates who may not be actively looking for a new job but are willing to consider the right opportunity.

The startup has also attracted support from several prominent investors, including Bolt founder Markus Villig, Sergei Anikin, Henrik Bohman, Kristina Lilleõis and Lemonade Stand.

Roleo plans to initially expand across Europe, targeting technology professionals and businesses in the sector. The latest funding will also be used to enhance its AI career agent, making it more personalised and responsive to users' individual requirements. Beyond identifying suitable job openings, the company aims to develop the platform into a broader career development tool that can support professionals throughout their careers.
